![]() The stuff is there to make them work, but there are aspects to overcome to make them good. ![]() C-tier - a workable subclass, that takes a bit of optimization & pre-planning to perform as well as subclasses above it.Many of these subclasses are strong at certain level points, but much weaker at the beginning or end of the game. B-tier - a good subclass that is still powerful enough to find success on cataclysm difficulty.A-tier - a strong subclass that exemplifies what it is good at with few downsides.S-tier - an overloaded subclass with clear mechanical advantages all throughout the career of the subclass, with few reasons to pick other options in the game.I have a high emphasis on combative skills & abilities, and de-emphasis on out-of-combat utility skills & abilities.Classes with spells will generally rank higher than classes that don't (or can't) use spells effectively. I have a strong preference for using spells, hence creating several spell tier lists. Some classes/subclasses will benefit or suffer as a result of not rolling stats. I play on cataclysm difficulty for the main campaign and in custom dungeons, and use point-buy for all my characters. All the links on there are to other places on reddit, or to the Google Slides & upcoming Google Doc I will continue to update for everyone for fun + my own sanity when looking at all of the subclass options. With finally enough time to test all of the new Lost Valley DLC subclasses, here's my opinions on where these new subclasses stand currently.įeel free to see my reference post here on reddit for discussions on the previous subclasses. To answer the question, beasts are your next best choice, because you will occasionally come across eagles, wolves, spiders, and the like.A subreddit dedicated to the discussion of Solasta: Crown of the Magister, a tactical turn-based RPG developed by Tactical Adventures based on the D&D SRD 5.1 (5e) ruleset. Simultaneously, it kinda actually defeats the whole purpose of ever homebrewing bonus damage to Favored Enemy in the first place. lolĪnyways, Soraks are humanoids, but humanoid is not on the ranger's Favored Enemy list for Solasta. These are good features.īut Favored Enemy is just weaponized racism. Paladins are Fighters with better healing (Lay on Hands + Cure Wounds > Second Wind). ![]() Having to go through all this finagling to get the feature be both useful and not OP tells us It's just a bad feature in general. It still can be a dead feature without meta-knowledge of what sorts of enemies you fight in Solasta. The feature would be as dead as it ever has been in 5e. If TA hadn't half-fixed Favored Enemy by giving it the ability to deal bonus damage, there'd be no point in asking this question. ![]()
